Hi Thundra,
Greetings from Germany.
Here is a little Interview for you. I hope you have fun with it. Feel free to contact me if you have any problems with the questions!!

THUNDRA are in germany still a quite unknown band. Would you tell us yet a few to the story of THUNDRA ! How long have you driven your nuisance and how it came to the band foundation?

Stein Sund:
Hello! Well, THUNDRA started as a project band between me(Stein Sund), when I played in Einherjer, and Harald M. Revheim when he played drums for Enslaved in 1998.
We joined forces with Rune Fredriksen(Guitar), Steven Grindhaug(Growl/clean voc), Nils Johansen(Synth) and Thor Erik Helgesen(Guitar/Scream voc)
We released our debut album, "Blood Of Your Soul" on Spinefarm in late 2000. When we parted from our former bands (Einherjer and Enslaved) and Spinefarm, we wanted to fully concentrate on Thundra, and we released a well-reviewed demo in late 2003.
In 2004 we decided to begin recording "Worshipped By Chaos" in our own studio. We signed up with KarmageddonMedia, and the album should have been out early 2005. But they could not follow up the contract, so we parted ways.
And then we got signed with Black Lotus Records, to release "Worshipped By Chaos"

A part of you played earlier in other not just unknown bands. How is your relation to your former band colleagues?

Stein Sund:
Yeah, we are all still friends. We tend to get drunk together now and then. They are all great guys, so no hard feelings.

Do you think it is helpfully, that you already have played once with a larger group, to get a deal in a label more easily?

Stein Sund:
Actually, for us I don`t think that it was a benefit. People/labels tend to have very high expectations when you have played in a larger group. So we felt we had to work even harder to be excepted.

How would you describe the Sound of THUNDRA and what are your musical head influences?

Stein Sund:
Hard question! I think that we have our own sound, and style of writing music. We are 6 egoistic persons in the band, and all of us are into various different music styles. And we try to incorporate all those styles into our music. From classic heavy metal to black metal. And we are also blending 3 types of vocal styles together, scream/growl and clean. There aren`t many bands doing that at the moment.

Which ideology is behind THUNDRA? Whereof concerns the texts on "Worshipped by chaos"?

Stein Sund:
I really don`t think we has an "ideology" in Thundra. The most important thing, must be that we love metal music.
About the lyrics, I really can`t give you an answer. Because Harald(drums) is the one who write most of the lyrics, and that is his thing.

Your second albums "Worshipped by chaos" is available in the trade since short spell. How are the first reactions?

Stein Sund:
The reaction so far, has bee great! Great reviews and so on! And it seems that people are really getting into our music.

How does an album emerge with you? Does you just play in the rehearsal room or have you a leading character who composes all the songs?

Stein Sund:
As I said before, we are 6 egoistic people in the band. And everyone has something to say about a new song. How we should arrange it, or coming up with a new riff. It is very democratic how we compose the songs.

What do you plan for the future of THUNDRA? Are any tours, festivals etc. planned already?

Stein Sund:
Right now the only plan so far, is that we are planning some single gigs/festivals in Norway. And we are at the moment writing new songs which we also has begun pre-producing. We hope that we can do a full European tour later this year.

In which country would you life most dearly and why?

Stein Sund:
Here in Norway of course…hehehe. I love this country. Snow, beautiful mountains and landscapes.

If you were a guide, which place of your country would you put the visitors especially at the heart?

Stein Sund:
It must be at this region we live in, at the west coast of Norway. Here are some great places where the old Viking kings lived. And there are still some great monuments after them here, that everyone should see

How do you feel about that "Immortal" have broken up?

Stein Sund:
It was a sad day when I heard that they split up.
One of Norway`s greatest Black metal band.
I`ve talked to Abbath himself not long ago, and his new group "I" is soon to enter the surface. Can`t wait to hear it!
But I think we will hear more from Immortal in the future…..

The last lines belong to you now. Is there something what you would like to get rid of?

Stein Sund:
Thanks for the interview! And I hope people will enjoy "Worshipped By Chaos" Ølrait :)
