Let me at first congratulate you for another - in my eyes - very interesting Album! I was very curios about it when I found it on the release plan.

The first thing I recognized again when I became your Album was the cover artwork. I was again positively impressed because there is not that typical reaper, skull and blood motive to find on. So tell me how does it come that you are choosing so very different and of course neutral motives, not like in the beginning of your career and many other bands?

Jukka:
Well just got bored in the typical cover artwork that you see in almost every heavy metal compact disk, so we wanted to differ from the mass.
The man behind our cover artwork is Miikka Tikka who also did the Mirror of Madness artwork..truly amazing guy!!!!


"Death Unlimited" is now your fifths album out on the market. If you take a look back in time to the beginnings of Norther what do you think: Have you ever thought about such a carer at the beginning? Is there something in the past of Norther which you really would like to change or do in a different way if you would have the possibility?

Jukka:
Actually the forthcoming album is our third and we´re pretty beginning of our career in a way…I would not change a single day from the past…we have had excellent time this far!!!!


What in your opinion is the most typical thing in your music, what attitude characterises it best?

Jukka:
Manic schizophrenic figures….


In my eyes the music you are playing features especially through the technically very exact and fast playing. Wasn't it hard to find musicians who were able to play this style of music?

Jukka:
Not actually…there was a little sack rumble before our debut album. But things collapsed in place quite easily.


In the year 2003 you used to be on tour with Hypocrisy and Dimmu Borgir. Tell me something about this tour. How was it like to be with such power bands on tour?

Jukka:
It was a blast for us to play with these two great bands!!! And it was our first tour so couldn't been better!!!
Touring was great and there is only one sentence to describe it: Touring around Europe without knowing it!!!! HAHAAHAHAA!!!


How did they deal with you on tour? Did they treat you well or did they give you the feeling that you were "only" an opener for them?

Jukka:
Hypo and Dimmu guys were absolutely great!!! We had superb time with these guys and they were very nice to us!!!!

On your website there is a nice feature for all your fans, there is a guitar section where you can download several guitar parts to view and learn them. How did you come on that idea and who is putting those files online?

Jukka:
Kristian is mainly behind this…we thought it would be nice to please our fans in new way and we've received good feedback!!!


Tell me which part in Finland are you from?

Jukka:
We are from the south…Helsinki…the capital of Finland.


If I would go there on holiday which place would I really have to visit and why especially this place?

Jukka:
Of course to our rehearsal place to party!!! HAHAHAH!!!!


The Finnish Metal scene is quite very well known as really good and manifold. Which place in your hometown would I have to visit if I would like to get to know it?

Jukka:
Hmmm….maybe the biggest activity would be here in Helsinki but also in Tampere and Oulu….all around Finland!!

If you would have to choose between the sea or the mountains - which choice would you take?

Jukka:
Of course the mountains 'cause it would be a better place to survive!!!!


Do you like fishing and if, which place in Finland would you call the best one for fishing?

Jukka:
Well mainly we have been fishing alcohol….land of thousand lakes (and rivers) so you have many places to choose from!!! Just remember to take your portable cd-player and Norther cd with you when you go fishing!!!! HHHAAHAHAHAH!!!!
