Hi Efthimis,
welcome to the Rising Darkness Magazine.
First of all congratulation for the new Album.Thatīs what I call a real Masterpiece!
Efthimis :
Thank you very much for your kind words!
Efthimis, tell us what happend to Nightfall after the release of "DIVA FUTURA"? The last 3 Years it was really quite about Nightfall.
Efthimis :
Indeed. We were trying to set our selves free from the previous label and the whole story took us that long thanks to these guys' incapability to deal with the market. On the other hand we are not the kind of people who circulate silly news around the media just to keep the band's name in the air.
How would you characterise your new Album. Whatīs the Main-Difference between "Diva Fotura" and " I Am Jesus ".
Efthimis :
Diva Futura was a really dark gothic-like album while I Am Jesus combines that dark feeling with heavier guitars and tempos too. Another interesting point is that I Am Jesus was merely born in rehearsal studio booth by a bunch of desperate artists killing time during that harsh period with the ex-label. We were trapped back then to that bureaucratic situation so no actual plans existed referring to promoting Diva Futura, or even worse to produce another album. Dramatic situation really. I have to admit sometimes we felt like there was no tomorrow for us. Nonetheless, that suffering gave birth to the I Am Jesus, and if some ones say that this album sounds like a sort of compilation of all previous releases of Nightfall I will most probably agree my self as a dying man sees his entire life passing before his eyes when about to die, so did we smelling our band's death in the air. Grotesque but true.
On the CD we can see the Nightfall sign. What does it mean and for what does it standīs for. ( The Star/Sun with the Nightfallwriting)
Efthimis :
Oh, the Nightfall emblem you mean. This is our logo and its structure is based on ancient signs. It has to do with secret symmetry and power sources. A whole philosophy that cannot be analysed within few words here, unfortunately.
You produced and mixed the new album at Tico Tico studios in Finnland. Why do you choose Finnland to record the Album ?
Efthimis :
Actually the album recorded in 4 different studios of ours over here (our private ones) and then the great Ahti took care of the editing, mixing, and stuff at his Tico Tico studio in Finland. I know the guy personally since the Lesbian Show recordings back in 1997 and I trust him a lot. You know, we had just escaped from the jaws of our previous label and I was still in tense. Hence, wanted only close friends, people that I know and trust to work with. Ahti is one of them!

Why do you call the new Album " I Am Jesus"? Did you change your religion?
Efthimis :
Actually I've never been a so called 'religious' person my self - at least the ordinary way. Religions are clever frameworks whose aim is to gain control of peoples lives. And by saying control I mean everything: their goals; dreams; expectations; ethics; everything!.. Having the world divided into various religious camps where each one tries to get over the other is a clever way to keep humanity busy, so away from cerebral excursions that help human mind to expand. Christianity has successfully managed to make the entire western world feeling guilty for no reason. Think about it. Since your birth you are charged with sins that you will never cure, whilst your only way out is supposed to be that of the god's; a road full of doctrines, principals, and rules that guarantee a 'smooth' life in shadow. A 'white' sheep, or a 'black' sheep (like Satanists for example) is always a sheep that follows, and certainly this is not the life I want to live! The title is an ironic statement against those ultimate systems of surveillance called religions.
What do you think about religion generally
Efthimis :
The best way to control people, as they have access not only to our social life but -most importantly- to our private one! Who got the idea to introduce such absolute means of leadership onto earth is/was a genius. No doubt about it.
What is the main idea, the message you want to leave to people who listens to you? What do you want to advise ?
Efthimis :
No guidelines nor advises here. After all we consider our fans smart enough to cope with life the best way on their own. What Nightfall do since the beginning is to offer inspiration to those interested in; you know, food for thought. We are fuelling the fire of knowledge and we are satisfied there are many people backing us in this effort!

On the Official Band homepage (http://www.nightfallstar.com) the fans can find a lot of Poetry's. Are there different content between to Poetrys and the lyrics that you use on the new Album ?
Efthimis :
I am into poetry myself therefore all our lyrics are either parts or original poems of mine. In our site one can find poems out of which lyrics have been inspired as well as the lyrics themselves and few written passages with thoughts of philosophical nature that will irritate the readers mind. Food for thought in different tastes ;-)
Some People compare you with Moonspell. What your comment on this ?
Efthimis :
Both we are coming from Mediterranean area, which certainly plays a very significant role in our cultural background. I don't have something to comment, really, but I am very satisfied there are still bands out there that have a strong cultural background. I'm fed up hearing and seeing how many metal bands using their heads strictly for head banging out there and not for
thinking a bit.
Rotting Christ are from Greece too. How is the disposition between Rotting Chirst and Nightfall ? Are there any hatred or enviousnessn between the bands ?
Efthimis :
No, not at all. Quite the opposite actually: we are friends and help each other wherever it is needed.
How would you subribe the Greece scene generally
Efthimis :
It is small with a couple of bands maintaining an international career only. No serious newcomers can cope with the difficulties a band faces from time to time hence you see bands releasing one or two albums and then quit. Really disappointing.
Thanks for the interview and we hope to see you soon on Tour. The last words are reserved for you.
Thank you very much for your time and effort in Nightfall! See you all out there.
Auf Wiedersehen!
