Interviews      Dimension F3h - via mail 21.05.2003

Hi Morfeus! Greetings from the Rising Darkness Magazine! How are you?

Nesmoht: I am sure he is quite good thank you, hehe this is Nesmoht helping Morfeus out with the interviews, he will add in where I cant answer but there is so much to do at the moment with the new album, recording a video, and a new EP that he had to delegate some of the interviews to me, I know most of you want to "talk" to the boss himself but we have been working close together now for a long time and know what the other would say so I hope this wont be a problem.

Oh and btw. I'm fine too hehe.

First of all, would you tell us in brief the history, beginning and the development of Dimension F3h?

Nesmoht: Morfeus has as long as I have known him been into weird sounds and techniques and DF3h (it was not called that at the time) was originally intended to be a synth based ambient thing he would play with from time to time. This was a couple of years ago and as time went by it got clear that this thing was getting heavier than his original idea and it slowly evolved in to a new band instead of just a side-project so he recruited me, we did a demo, got a deal with Hammerheart, and Mr. Thunderforce was then asked to join and do the drums on Reaping The Worldwinds. Later on Mr.Motvind (Arch Nemesis) and Mr. Krokmo (Pagan`s Mind) became our "Hired Guns" on guitar and bass for our live-shows.

By the way, what does Dimension F3h mean, what does it stand for?

Nesmoht: That is for us to know, and for you to find out when the time is right, but if you listen closely to the lyrics on the album you'll find the answer.

Would you denominate Dimension F3h as a "real" band or just as a your studio project?

Nesmoht: Though considered otherwise by others, DF3h is now and will always be a full-fledged band. Even though Morfeus is the mastermind behind music, lyrics and concept and at the moment wishes to keep it that way he lets us in just enough to give us the band-feeling hehe, no seriously, at the time Morfeus is full of ideas that he couldn't use in Limbonic Art so it is only naturally that he does most of the work but in the future, well who knows?

Will you concentrate on other bands as well, or will Dimension F3h be your one and only priority?

Nesmoht: For now Morfeus is concentrating fully on DF3h, what the future brings, no one knows.

Could you please introduce your band mates, vocalist Nesmoht and drummer Stian "Thunderforce" Kristoffersen and tell us how you got them into the band?

Nesmoht: Well, Morfeus and myself go back a long time together as friends, we even tried to form a band together many years ago but he was the only one who actually could play hehe, it didn't get any further at the time. Together with Mr. Motvind I started my main band Arch Nemesis in 98` and as a "newbie" band it was cool for us to se that our friends Morfeus and Daemon were getting bigger and when Morfeus started to get interested in the process behind recording it was only natural for us to ask him to help us recording our first demos (and now albums) and working with this ultimately led to Morfeus asking me to do some vocals for him on what was still a project at that time. Mr. Thunderforce was a new acquaintance to us all, being the drummer in Pagan`s Mind we got to know him when Limbonic Art and Arch Nemesis did a couple of gigs together with them, he is probably one of the best drummers I have ever seen and a great talent to have with us.

Regarding the lyrics on the album, is "Reaping the World Winds" a concept Album? What do you want to tell the audience with your lyrics?

Nesmoht: Hehe this is where it gets rough, the lyrics on Reaping… Has probably lead to a remarkable jump in the sale of Jack Daniels at the local store since Morfeus writes all the lyrics before I enter the studio to do them and being the main author of the lyrics in my other band this I sometimes a bit hard for me to comprehend.
Morfeus bases his writing on the rhythm of the songs whilst I tend to focus more on the melody within the vocals but after a bottle of Jack we usually do some minor changes and get to a point where we can call us satisfied.

Reaping...is not a concept-album in the right sense of the word, though there are kind of a red thread to follow trough the album. Some of the lyrics are very personal and some are pure (insane) fantasy, every song is a story of human lust, fear, dreams, nightmares, some takes you to places you wish you could see, some takes you to places you really don't want your friends to see you in hehe.

I could go on forever but it is really up to the metalheads out there to discover the truth for them selves.

You designed the cover of the new CD, didn't you? What is the main concept of the cover art this time? What are your inspirations?

Morfeus shoots: the main idea is to reflect the 3 parts I see in the album, the personal part, the fantasy part, and the Dimension F3h part. It is just a collage of images that are special to me in some way, and of course it is made to attract some interest from the viewer. My inspirations are hard to tell really, maybe I'd say life in general, as there are so many things that affect me, and that I react to…

"Reaping the World Winds" is out awhile. How are the resonances?

Nesmoht: So far the response has been overwhelming with a 5/10 as the lowest score, and Morfeus is getting far more interview-requests from all over the world than he possibly could manage on his own so I have to help out if we are to respond to everyone. It is not just the album that is creating waves, we have only done two gigs so far but the feedback from the audience have been enormous so it looks like we have managed to create a concept on stage that really gives the spectators a thrill. It is also good to see that many of the fans of LA really get a kick from DF3h too and even people who doesn't normally listen to metal has found elements in our music that they can relate to.

If you had the chance now to change something on "Reaping the World Winds" - is there anything you would like to change?

Nesmoht: Someone once said in an interview that if you are 100% satisfied with an album you should make that your last album, and we tend to agree. I know Morfeus would love to mix the album a thousand times more to get the sound he wants and I would grasp the chance to do some of the vocals over again but hey, we all evolve as time goes by and what we didn't get right this time we'll work harder with next time around, the most important thing is that we did our best at the time and who can ask for more?

Are there any future plans for a forthcoming tour?

Nesmoht: At the moment we have only one concert scheduled at The Elements Of Metal festival here in Sandefjord, together with my other band Arch Nemesis amongst others, see the upcoming section under concerts on www.dimensionf3h.com for more info on that. There is also some talk about us doing a European Tour this fall and we are all hoping this will come true since we love being on stage giving the audience a great time.

After all the reunions of other bands in the past, will we perhaps see Limbonic Art in a couple of years back on stage?

Nesmoht: Well, who can tell what time will bring? At the present time there are no such plans, they are still friends but wanted to go in different directions with their music and in the end that would have made it hard to keep focusing on writing LA material that could honour their past as one of the most innovative Black Metal acts around. Thank you so much for your time! These few last lines are for you!

Nesmoht:
Now Enter, Be Welcomed
We cherish your presence
In Dimension F3h…
