So at first I really want to welcome you here and thank you for the time you have left after your gig now for the Interview. It's not the bands first time here on the festival and of course it isn’t for you. So what do you think, does it mean something special for you to play here or do you more prefer the smaller gigs?
I love this festival! This Festival is really special for me because I have been here a couple of times as a guest and as a artist as well and ah this festival is fuckin great!
Lets start with some questions about your last European tour! What was it like to be playing for Immortal on the same tour with Peter Tätgren with whom you are playing in Pain together and of course a good friend of you?
Yeah he is a friend of mine, yeah ah what can I say the whole band Hypocrisy is one of the best guys I ever met, they are close friends to all of us and ah its been fucking great it all worked very smoothly and we worked very well together ah kind of we fit together, yeah! So we are not only musicians we are also close friends.
Do you think the tour was very successful?
Yeah I think so I think so! We had lots of audience ah lots of people came to our shows and all in all it was fucking good! You know it worked smoothly and we had a good time and all that yeah!
But only the problems in Greece at the end?
Ah yeah that was because of the disease going around there, so we didn’t wanna risk our lives! So we were warned to go there and we came to the opinion it is better to cancel the rest of the shows.
Yeah I can understand this, nobody should do this!
Yeah you are right!

So lets go to another theme! You are the new bass player at Immortal, do you know why Iscariah has left the band?
Ah he left the band so as I have heard from him of personal, ah he had personal matters, he didn’t wanna tour that much, he had studies to do and of course he wanted to take care of his family as well! So that were the reasons he told me! He is a really good friend of me and we are still in contact of course!
Tell all the Immortal fans something of you where the guys know you from...
So my name is Saroth. I play with Horgh in Pain he plays Drums and I play bass and when Iscariah left they were searching for a new bass player and ah well obviously I was good enough! Haha!
Oh, I really think so!
Oh haha, thank you! So they asked me If I was willing to do and of course I couldn’t let pass an opportunity like this!
Has it been hard for you to learn all the songs in such short time?
Ah no not really!
So you are good enough - hehe!
Ah thank you again! Haha
What about Immortals last album - Sons Of Northern Darkness - do you think if you compare it to the older albums that the music is growing from each album to the next?
It is! It is growing all the time! That’s one thing I really like about Immortal ah the music its not staying at the same its growing, its growing, its growing! And that’s important I think you have to grow into a different level, otherwise its getting boring! I mean, I think we all of us play for the fucking hell of it, we love it! We cant play the same fucking shit all the time we gotta be evolved and that’s what is happening with Immortal we are evolving all the time going further. I like that with the band.
So what do think were comes the Inspiration for the music from? May be its a hard question for you because of your short time at Immortal!
Right because I have not been involved into writing the music till yet.
So let me try another way! Do you think the fantastic nature of Immortals home country Norway is one of the inspiring points - especially if I think about all the winter themes in the songs?
It is, it is! I can tell you that! I cant say what’s going on inside Abbath's head but that is that is one of the main issues!
I really can understand this I think everybody who stayed once in Norway can do this! So Horgh and Abbath are as far as I know from Bergen in Norway, what about you? You are coming from Sweden I think, so would you leave your home country for the band?
Ah may be! May be I will move to Bergen sometimes because it will be easier to work with the guys! You never know what happens! It wouldn’t be very hard because the countries are very similar and of course the language is very similar, I also can understand Norwegian, too.

Hm, I every time had a very special question about the Immortal internet domain! All the Norwegian pages have the top level domain .no. But Immortal uses .nu! Can you tell me why?
Ah, .nu that’s cause ah how can I explain this, it is a technical term! I used to be a computer programmer so ah .no and .se is restricted for corporations only! We could use .com but I am not sure if that’s taken so we are using .nu that’s ah I think its some Island in the West Pacific, it has their own Top Domain and its cheap to get that!
So as a programmer will you do the scripting for the page in the future?
Ah not yet, but I will because I know how it works! I don’t like html very much but I will!
Yeah so because its no real programming but only a script language?
Ah that’s right! For me it has to be more dynamic something like Java or PHP or stuff like that you know!
Alright I see! So what does your music mean to you? Only music or in the main case lifestyle?
Ah its becoming my lifestyle more and more. From the beginning I didn't know what to expect, but it is a lifestyle yeah! I mean not that I live it every day but when I go to Bergen and we rehearse and ah we play and put up the make up ... its...its coming up into your soul, ah its hard to explain.
Yeah I think I can understand you! So what about your make up what are your reasons for that paint?
Ah we have done it, - Immortal have done it since the beginning of it, since the beginning of Immortal and ah still we want to bring out the how should I say ah when we put on, when I put on, I can only speak for myself, when we put on the paint that brings out the daemon, kind of, so it becomes larger than us, as when we have the make up on an all the stuff like ah...
Spikes and leather?
Yeah, yeah then its Immortal at this time!
Ok so we are at last on the end of my questions! Normally I wanted to thank Immortal in norwegian mange tak for din tid og ha de bra but I also can also do that in Swedish tack så mycket for din tid och ha det så bra.
Oh haha tak så fan, tak så fan!!!!!!!! (thank you so fuckin much!) this is really nice from you! Thank you very very much!
Any last words to everybody?
Keep it fuckin running all of you!
