Let me at first welcome you to this Interview with the Rising Darkness Magazine! It's already the second time that I have the pleasure to do an Interview with you!

Again as at the first time I was very much impressed when I started listening to "Beyond The Apocalypse". Now as the album is out a while what about the reactions worldwide? Were they as enthusiastic as at the release of your first album?

Seidemann :
This far we've got very positive reactions worldwide. We feel we've established 1349 as a band and not a Frost side project in peoples minds now.


How will I have to understand "Beyond The Apoalypse" The title of your actual album? A description of the music on this record?

Seidemann :
Our titles and lyrics are very open for individual interpretation and independent thought, so I will not bias your mind by giving my interpretation.


There is one title on the album I really wasn't able to understand at all: "Necronatalenheten". Can you tell me something about the meaning?

Seidemann :
In hospitals you have a special place for infants called "neonatalenheten" meaning "new-born ward" so I traded the greek "neo" (new) with "Necro" (dead) leaving you with the meaning : "still-bord ward" - A place for the dead infants…


It is now the second album you brought out through your label candlelight! Are you still satisfied with them? What would you say makes them so perfect for you?

Seidemann :
We are still satisfied with Candlelight and the fact that they release our albums without interfering in our creative process or musical direction makes them a great label for us.


How long did it take you to write and record the whole album? As far as I know from our last interview you already started writing the material for "Beyond The Apocalypse" right after the release from "Liberatinon"?

Seidemann :
The material for the new album was written over a period of 2 years, though some of the songs were written not very long before we entered the studio. The actual recording took about 2 weeks.


There are very often photography's showing you during fire spitting on your cover Photos or for the pres. I for myself love to do it because it is a possibility for me to handle the power of the element fire! Has this a special meaning to you, too?

Seidemann :
You will have to ask the ones handling the fire spitting about that, but it is a cool effect and shows mastery of the fiery element.

If you would have to describe your home country Norway which words would you use for it?

Seidemann :
Beautiful naturewise, expensive and ridiculously christian…


If I would go on holiday in your home country Norway which place of interest would I really have to visit?

Seidemann :
I would recommend a visit to Jotunheimen (home of the jotuns/trolls) a majestic mountainous area in the middle of Norway, as well as the fjords in the western regions of Norway.


Will there be any chance to see 1349 live in Germany in the nearest future, may be on some of the festivals?

Seidemann :
You will see us on tour with Gorgoroth in October and also on The morbid festival in Bischofswerda on September 11th
